Future-proof your Internet Tablet with Diablo

The latest OS2008 feature upgrade will be the last you ever have to manually flash as it will allow future updates to be provided over-the-air. The Seamless Software Upgrade (SSU) feature will let you automatically receive and install new updates via a notification which will appear on your Internet Tablet home view whenever a new update is available.

How do I upgrade?

Upgrading is simple with the Nokia Internet Tablet Software Update Wizard. If you haven't yet installed it on your Windows PC you can download it from the first link on the left.

• First take a backup of the settings, data and the list of installed applications using Backup/restore.
• Switch the device off, connect it to your PC with the USB cable and launch the Nokia Internet Tablet Software Update Wizard. Note: the "swap key" is the upper key on the left side of the front of the Nokia N810 and the bottom key on the left side of the front on the Nokia N800.

• The new release will be downloaded and installed by the Wizard.
• Remove the USB cable.
• After setup the device will ask if you wish to restore a backup (assuming you made one and kept the memory card inside the device). If the application servers are busy or down you can manually return to restore your backup by selecting Tools > Restore applications on the Application Manager.
